The rapid development of the Internet allows people to ingest endless information on the Internet without any hindrance, but it also brings various information security problems. Among them, phishing emails are a very common source of security incidents in recent years, and they are used directly through the emails of institutional colleagues. , easily attack the organization’s internal network and steal information.

 

Phishing Emails are highly phishing emails sent by hackers to recipients. The content of the emails will induce victims to click on links to fake websites, or download viruses or Trojans to steal personal or institutional confidential information , such as emails, institutional computer systems, and bank accounts and passwords, ultimately causing losses to individuals and even institutions.

 

According to the 2021 annual report of the Hong Kong Computer Security Incident Coordination Centre (HKCERT), among the 7,725 security incidents handled by the HKCERT in 2021, 48% were related to phishing. Compared with the previous 4 years, the figures also showed an increasing trend. Can not be ignored. Since phishing attacks are mostly carried out through the use of emails, it is also very important for organizations to improve their staff’s awareness of preventing phishing emails.

 

The Information Technology Resource Centre will hold a workshop on “Phishing Email Prevention and Security Response” on 20 July 2022. The purpose is to enhance the organization’s understanding of the importance of preventing phishing emails, and how to test employees’ responses to phishing emails through simulated attacks. Prevention awareness, and how the organization responds to related security incidents. This workshop will be held online by Zoom, and experts from Green Radar (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. will be invited to share with you in detail. The workshop is free of charge, and staff from organizations are welcome to sign up to participate.
