2025 Hong Kong ICT Awards: Smart People Award embraces the theme “Breaking Boundaries with Technology, Building Communities with Compassion”, highlighting the importance of connection—not only between NGOs and tech experts working together to drive digital transformation, but also between people and technology. The aim is to empower underserved groups by harnessing technology to enhance their well-being.
Award Introduction
The Hong Kong ICT Awards was established in 2006. It is the most recognised and longest-standing information technology award in Hong Kong. It aims at recognising and promoting outstanding local information and communications technology (ICT) inventions and applications, thereby promoting constant innovation and pursuit of excellence in the entire ICT industry. The Smart People Award aims to recognise innovative development of ICT products / solutions or ICT/ AI-enabled services to improve lives and foster social good.

Three Award Streams: Building a Tech-Driven Smart City
In 2025, three streams are open for submission to recognise innovative development of products / solutions or ICT / AI-enabled services, programmes and campaigns serving the following objective. From the shortlisted entries across these streams, the “Best Use of AI” award will be selected to magnify and honour outstanding achievements in harnessing the power of AI in respective areas.
🔹 Smart Transformation (Solution for Charitable Sector)
To enable charitable institutions achieving higher operation productivity and efficiency, improving client experience, service effectiveness and quality, and ultimately enhancing the quality of life of their targeted clients.
🔹 Smart Ageing
To recognise innovative development of gerontechnological products / solutions or To enable independent living and social participation of elderly people in good health, comfort and safety, which is believed to be an important factor to achieve “ageing in place” and to enhance the sustainability of an ageing society
🔹 Smart Transformation
To address unique challenges faced by the underprivileged in the community, to improve their circumstances and quality of life, safeguard their right in social participation, and no one being marginalized in the smart city development
